Covered a distance of 207 km with running and cycling team-mates in a 12 hour period.
Raised Rs.68,66,011/- (Rupees sixty eight lacs sixty six thousand eleven only) for Bal Sanjeevani’s Cerebral Palsy Unit
‘Dawn to Dusk Marathon 2014’ was held on Sunday, 5th January, 2014. It was a 12 hour event and the turnout for the event was one of the highest till date.
Approximately 6300 participants including 2200 children and families participated in this charity run and cycle marathon in support of God’s Own Children.
The primary objective of this event was to raise awareness and raise funds for Cerebral Palsy affected children through Bal Sanjeevani, which provides therapeutic services and support facilities to aid babies and children affected by Cerebral Palsy.
With the funds raised from Dawn to Dusk Marathon 2014, Bal Sanjeevani has been able to appoint qualified therapists, including speech and occupational therapists. The funds also helped procure splints, wheelchairs, other walking-aids and Therasuits. The ‘Therasuit’ is a soft dynamic proprioceptive orthotic usually worn by children with spasticity. Originally designed for astronauts, the ‘Therasuit’ provides these affected children with some stability and particularly benefits their posture.
