D2D Marathon

DUSK TO DAWN CHENNAI NIGHT MARATHON 2015 -16

The Dusk to Dawn Chennai Night Marathon 2015-16  was held on Saturday, 11th June 2016, which is the 5th edition of D2D Marathon.  The event was supposed to be held on 28th November 2015 and due to the floods in Chennai the event was postponed to a new date new date was announced on 11th June 2016 on event was complied.  The D2D Marathon was conducted in aid of the project Freedom Through Education supported by Round Table India in bringing awareness of Education for children and raising funds towards building toilet blocks.

D2D Team and Round Table India along with Area II conducting the second Dusk to Dawn Chennai Night Marathon after receiving an overwhelming response for the event held in 2014.

  • About 4500 participants
  • Children below 16 years – 400 / 8.89%
  • Men – 3120 / 69.33%   +  Women – 980 / 21.78%
  • D2D raised Rs.51,00,000/- (Rupees Fifty one lac only)
  • Every rupee raised from D2D Chennai Night Marathon is donated towards building classrooms and toilet blocks  for the underprivileged children

It was an event which had various running categories: 3Km, 5Km, 10Km and 21Km for participants.

The D2D event also had cycling event for various distances: 25Km, 50Km, 75Km, 100Km, 100Km plus.  This is the first time Chennai witnessed maximum participation for a cycling event which crossed 630 participants which is the highest till date in South India.

The turnout overall was good for the Night Marathon and we had about 4500 plus participants taking part in the Chennai’s most awaited D2D Marathon 2015-16.

IN AID OF “CENTRE FOR LIVER DISEASE & TRANSPLANTATION, APOLLO HOSPITALS” – FOR CHILDREN

‘Dusk to Dawn Chennai Night Marathon 2014’ was held on Saturday, 22nd November 2014, which is the second Night Marathon held in India next to Bangalore. It was an event which had various running categories: 1 Km for Transplant patients, 3 Km, 5 Km, 10 Km and 21 Km for participants. The turnout for the first night Marathon was amazing where we had about 6300 plus participants taking part. All these pariticipants had registered through online paying a registration fee of Rs.650/-

D2D raised Rs.35,75,000/- from Dusk to Dawn Chennai Night Marathon 2014, will use these funds for the primary objective of this event to raise awareness on Organ donation for children who are in need of organ donation / transplantation for Centre for Liver Disease & Transplantation, Apollo Hospitals.

Covered a distance of 207 km with running and cycling team-mates in a 12 hour period.

Raised Rs.68,66,011/- (Rupees sixty eight lacs sixty six thousand eleven only) for Bal Sanjeevani’s Cerebral Palsy Unit

NEVILLE’S DAWN TO DUSK 2013 Sunday, 13th JANUARY, 2013
IN AID OF ‘BAL SANJEEVANI; CEREBRAL PALSY REHABILITATION CENTRE’ FOR GOD’S OWN CHILDREN

Neville’s Dawn to Dusk 2013’ was held on Sunday, 13th January, 2013. It was a 12 hour event, focusing on raising funds for Bal Sanjeevani, which provides therapeutic services and support facilities to aid babies and children affected by Cerebral Palsy. Most of these children at Bal Sanjeevani are from low income families.

Appointed by Bal Sanjeevani as Brand Ambassador along with Mr. Ashok Amritraj, Hollywood Film Producer. Covered a distance of more than 154 km with running and cycling team-mates in a 12 hour period.

Raised Rs. 50,19,066/- for Bal Sanjeevani’s Cerebral Palsy Unit

“DAWN TO DUSK 2012 – GOLDEN RUN” Sunday, 8th JANUARY 2012
COMMEMORATING 50 YEARS OF ROUND TABLE INDIA

A 12 hour running and cycling effort was taken on 8th January 2012. The objective of this event was to create awareness about Round Table India’s work.

As the Honorary Tabler of Madras Cosmopolitan Round Table 94, Neville dedicated this run towards raising funds for Round Table India’s long-term project ‘Freedom Through Education’.

With the help of the team, friends and sponsors Rs.7,20,000 was raised, which was spent towards building new classrooms for the underprivileged children.
